Lead project: Short-term stabilization of electric power grids through battery storage systems.

In the second main topic, battery storage systems and battery systems are investigated with regard to their system and safety requirements for the short-term stabilization of future energy grids, with a particular focus on the use of so-called "second-life batteries" after initial use in electromobility. The development of suitable test procedures for the prediction of battery aging, lifetime determination as well as possible certification procedures are in the focus of the planned research work. The results of this work will provide the physical-technical basis for the development of a process chain for setting up a "Second Life Battery Lab Factory" in the vicinity of the battery and sensor test center on the EnergyCampus in Goslar. In addition, legal and economic issues are being integrated.
